38th Tritium Focus Group Meeting: Getting Here

Navigating Tri-Cities

The Tri-Cities Airport (PSC) is the largest airport in the Southeastern Washington and Northeastern Oregon region and the fourth largest air carrier airport in the state of Washington with connections to eight major hubs.

The airport is served by Delta, Alaska Air/Horizon Air, United and Allegiant with flights to and from Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Denver, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Mesa, Arizona.

To get to PNNL from the Tri-Cities Airport in Pasco, exit south from the airport parking area until you reach Interstate 182 (.3 miles), then travel west toward Richland (7.6 miles). If you would like to travel through town on your way to the PNNL, take the George Washington Way exit (Exit 5B) immediately after crossing the Columbia River. Continue north on George Washington Way for 10.5 miles, then turn left onto Battelle Boulevard.

You may also take the Wellsian Way/Vantage Highway 240 (Exit 4) onto the Bypass Highway (12.4 miles). This eventually becomes Stevens Drive. Continue on Stevens Drive then take a right onto Battelle Boulevard.

Airport taxi/shuttle

The Tri-Cities Airport is about 10 miles from downtown Richland and about 17 miles from PNNL. For use in your GPS, the address to the Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory(EMSL) is:

3335 Innovation Boulevard
Richland, WA 99354

Transportation between the airport and hotels is summarized as follows:

Hampton Inn: Provides a shuttle service. There is an information screen in the baggage claim area of the airport with a phone (see image above). Dial the two-digit number (04) for the Richland Hampton Inn to connect with them to request the shuttle service.

Towne Place Suites by Marriott: Taxi service is available from Rad Cab for a $21 flat rate.

Homewood Suites: Taxi service is available from Rad Cab for a $21 flat rate.

Shilo Inn: Provides a shuttle service. Call the hotel upon arrival for pick-up from the airport. (Apparently this cannot be arranged in advance.)

M Hotel: No special service provided. Call any taxi company.

A list of taxi companies can be found from the airport webpage: http://www.flytricities.com/fly/ground-transportation. Two companies in particular will take online reservations in advance: A1 Taxi (schedulearide@tctransportservices.com and www.tctransportservices.com) and Rad Cab (reservations@radcab.biz). A1 Taxi can also be contacted free-of-charge from the special Information screen/telephone (07) in the baggage claim area at the airport. Depending upon the time of day, there will also likely be a few taxis waiting at the airport.

If you need help in making these arrangements, contact us and we would be glad to provide assistance.

Rental car

Most major US car rental companies (Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, and National) operate at the Tri-Cities Airport. We urge workshop participants to carpool if possible.
